Corrupt Video

When a file is damaged, we censor the bad sections and ask you to review

Occasionally a camera writes a damaged file.

If FreeFallFilms is unable to render a video, it scans the tracks to try and detect corrupt audio or video.

Where it finds corruption, it will:

  1. Report the corrupt files, so you can see which ones are affected
  2. Censor the corrupt sections out of the edits
  3. Automatically un-approve the jump

The jump is un-approved so that nothing is delivered without you seeing it first. Review the adjusted edits, then either approve them as they are, or replace the video with a backup if you have one.

As a rule, if you get corrupt files, there's a reasonable chance that the SD card is failing, and you should consider replacing it.
